CELEBRATING OVER 10 YEARS OF SWITCH!

If you have been injured in a motor accident, physiotherapy is usually accessed through your CTP claim rather than paid for directly. The first priority is your health: see a doctor, or go to hospital in an emergency. That assessment also matters for what follows, because it establishes the injury on record.

If the doctor considers physiotherapy appropriate, you lodge a claim with the insurer stating the injury. Once the claim is accepted, the insurer approves an initial block of treatment so physiotherapy can begin.

If more is needed after that, your physiotherapist contacts the insurer to discuss further approval. That continues, with review along the way, until the injury is resolved.

The thing worth keeping in view throughout is the destination: getting back to what you were doing before the accident, and making sure the injury does not carry on limiting you afterwards. The claim process is the means, not the point.
