Conditions our physios in Sydney treat

A sports injury does not have to cost you the season. Whether you have rolled an ankle at training, strained a hamstring mid-game or picked up a niggle that will not settle, our physiotherapists build a plan around the demands of your sport and the position you play.

It’s one of many conditions we treat as part of our wider pain treatment approach across Sydney.

  • Hamstring and calf strains
  • Ankle sprains
  • Knee ligament and meniscal injuries
  • Shoulder instability
  • Groin and hip pain
  • Achilles and patellar tendinopathy

Why patients choose SWITCH

Feel confident you're getting the right treatment

Every SWITCH session combines hands-on manual therapy with a personalised exercise program. We treat what is actually causing the pain, not just where you feel it. The assessment is the foundation of everything that follows, so you know exactly what is being treated and why.

SWITCH has been treating Sydney patients for over 10 years. We are a locally-owned, locally-run physiotherapy group with deep roots in the communities each of our 8 clinics serves. Thousands of patients trust SWITCH every year for the kind of care that actually fixes the problem.

No GP referral needed. You can book an initial assessment directly with SWITCH and start treatment the same week. Every injury and recovery timeline is different, but our goal is to help you get back to running, lifting, working or playing sooner.

After your first appointment you will know exactly what your physio thinks is going on, what the treatment journey looks like, and how many sessions to expect. No vague answers, no open-ended commitments. A clear plan from session one.

Early-morning, all-day and late-evening appointments at every SWITCH clinic. Same-week and often same-day availability across the network. Online booking 24/7 at weareswitch.com.au, so you can lock in a time when it suits you.

Penshurst, Maroubra, Concord, Lane Cove, Rouse Hill, Menai, Gladesville and Strathfield. The same standard of care across every location, so you can book wherever fits your day. Treatment notes follow you between clinics if you ever need to switch.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a physio for a sports injury?

No. You can book directly with a SWITCH Physiotherapist without a GP referral. A referral is only needed if you are accessing a specific funded pathway such as Medicare Chronic Disease Management.

How soon after injuring myself should I be seen?

Early assessment helps, particularly for deciding whether you need imaging or medical review. If you cannot weight-bear, the joint swelled rapidly within a few hours, or it gives way or locks, seek assessment promptly.

Can I keep training while I recover?

Usually yes, with modification. Complete rest deconditions you and tends to lengthen the overall timeline. Most athletes can maintain fitness and train uninjured areas throughout their rehabilitation.

How do you decide when I am ready to return to sport?

By testing rather than by the calendar. We compare strength between sides objectively, check movement quality under fatigue, and progress you through running, change of direction and contact in stages.

Why did my injury come back?

Most commonly because the return was based on how it felt rather than what it could do. Pain settles well before strength, fatigue tolerance and confidence return, so symptoms alone are a poor guide.

Stop putting it off. Start your recovery today.
